I got to harvest my first jalapenos!

I'm excited cause I have some homemade jalapeno poppers in the oven now and I can't wait to taste them!

As I've mentioned lots of times before, jalapenos are a frigging rip off in this country, averaging about 2 dollars for 40 grams. Because I got hooked on these stuffed jalapenos (with cheese and bacon), I decided I'd grow them this year.

This is the "hercules" strain. I'm not sure how mine did compared to normal hercules jalapenos, and maybe they even get a bit bigger after you pick the first ones. In any case, up until about 3 weeks ago, we have had very little sunshine this year, so they really didn't have much time to grow until just about 3 weeks ago. For much of the year, they were grown inside our kitchen (facing east). Our balcony also faces east, so we don't have direct light very long at all.

Anyhow, I think they turned out pretty good from what I've seen so far, and I'd like to think my constant care, attention and giving of nutrients (guano!) has helped them.

Hopefully I get a bunch more of these from the different plants I have going now. I'll let a few bigger ones ripen red so I can take out their seeds for next season.

 icon  Got three things today

Got three things today

Man oh man it feels like it's been ages since I bought my last game. Well, when you figure I used to buy games almost once or twice a week it has been a while, cause I can't remember buying a game for a couple months at least.

Anyhow, that's what got me to opening my wallet a little today. We were at GAME and I saw they had the Fallout 3 expansion. I know you can probably get it online for a little cheaper, but I'd rather have the box and manual for my collection. It wasn't too expensive, and I think it came with something other than Broken Steel.

After I had already broken into my wallet we went over to another music/dvd/bluray shop. We wanted something new to watch tonight.. we haven't bought a bluray (excluding that Advent Children import) in a while either.. Well, all the blurays sucked. I've looked at two places now for "The Wall" on bluray, and I don't think it's out yet... I asked the cashier and they did have it in on DVD so I felt I had to go ahead and get it anyhow. The Wall is a f*cking insane movie... I love it.. I saw it first just about a week ago.. downloaded it. I think Nero and my video collection reflects pretty well that piracy does not cause people to stop buying things altogether. It just makes most of us stop buying CRAP. I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who may end up purchasing DVDs or CDs of stuff I originally downloaded.. I just have to feel it is justified to pay for it, and most stuff I think isn't! >_<

Anyhow, i think The Wall is a great movie. Even better than Tommy (sorry, I just had to compare it to that since I've seen that a few times lately and it's another rock opera from roughly the same time). The Wall is reaaaaaaaaaallly psychological. It's probably one of the most psychological movies I've seen in a long time... And it's amazing because even though I knew the focus was on a rock star going into it, this never felt obvious or played out more than it needed to be. In fact, there was only one or two clear parts of the movie where there is some obvious allusion to the character being a rock star (which is good, because I'm one of those few people who really hates the whole rock-star obsession; because in my eyes it's basic simple-minded loathing based on superficial perceptions). I mention this just because with this in mind I would have expected to have myself to not enjoying a movie about a rock star, but I really did. I think it had a lot to do with some allusions I drew in the movie to my personal life, and the and all the amazing imagery and the incredibly way that Pink Floyd seems to have mastered using music to manipulate responses.

Yeah, ever since shrooming I finally get Pink Floyd music! haha... I always liked a few of their songs, but all the long instrumental solos and what not make so much more sense to me.. Anyhow, it's a great movie in case you are interested.. It's pretty much themed around depression, hate, isolation, conformity and going mad from it all in the end.

I was stoned when I first saw The Wall, but I'm probably gonna shroom tonight and watch it (if Nero is up for it).

Oh yeah and we also picked up a Bad Religion dvd... haven't seen this one yet either.

So I got a little good time ahead of me.

It's only a f*cking bitch cause it's like 2or 3 days before I'm supposed to release the new Theia, and I still need to do the language pack xml crap. blehhh.

icon  Got something cool on ebay today

Got something cool on ebay today

It's been a real long while since I got anything on ebay, but somehow I stumbled upon pages showing me the Advent Children bluray import (which has the FF13 demo). I think it all started off by me checking into some import sites to see if you could start importing FF13 yet or not.

I didn't find FF13, but I did find the FF7 Advent Children Bluray that comes with the FF13 demo. It was a bit pricey, so I checked out ebay and found someone who seems fairly trustworthy (though I kinda expect a lengthy delivery time) selling it for a bit cheaper.

With that being said, I finally just bought it. I know it's been out over in Japan (the demo that is) for a while now, and I'm dying to try the f*cking thing out.

Damn... I really can't wait now!

icon  Mushroom season has officially arrived in Sweden

Mushroom season has officially arrived in Sweden :)

(picture is taken from Wikipedia; I've never seen one of these myself; read on)

Well, I think it's safe to say it's officially mushroom season in Sweden. This summer has been exceptionally warm and humid almost constantly, so many mushroom species actually begun to fruit a bit earlier.

I've even started seeing various species pop up in different places, but I'm not out for every species.

I'm after a frigging Psilocybe Semilanceata (a "Liberty Cap" as they are commonly known) mushroom - well; a whole bunch are preferred, but I'd be happy with one, because I could make a spore print from it.

Yes, I know they are illegal (as is anything else fun or insightful). Don't care.

According to Wikipedia, and from various reports I've heard from erowid.org, Psilocybe Semilanceata starts to fruit in Sweden during August. That's only a few days away, and considering that most other mushrooms got a kick start this season, I have no doubts that these too have started popping up around the country.

But alas, I don't have a cow that I can follow around and monitor its poo. Nor do I have a farm or any grazing land.

They do NOT grow in forests (which I do have access to). In fact, from a book I've read (Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants), it is stated that there has never been a record of a Psilocybe Semilanceata ever growing in a forest, thus rendering that already god-awful film "Shrooms" even worse than it already is.

From all the information I've gathered, they popup in prairies, fields of grass and other areas that cows graze. They aren't supposed to grow directly on the poo, as with Psilocybe Cubensis ("Holy $h!t!"), but just in the same areas that cows do fertilize and graze. Sadly, all of these areas seem to be fenced off. And I see countless of them too. In fact, I'm gonna go out to a mall in a bit now, and on the drive there I will probably see 5-10 good places, with nice soft grass and cows.

So anyhow, I'm thinking about getting my own cow, so I can harvest its poo. I'm not sure how I'd get it up the stairs in my apartment, nor if the apartment complex would permit it, but we all gotta see our goals through to the end, right? haha (I'm kidding about getting a cow)

Last year I found about 400 grams (fresh) of Amanita Muscaria, but those don't do it for me anymore. Once you've tried psilocybin, Amanita Muscaria feels unnecessary. Not just because Amanita's are highly toxic (and in fact lethal; yet the legal out of the two - go figure), but because it puts you more in a daze and doesn't allow you to explore your mind in the same way psilocybin does.

I expect to start going out on walks around here to mushroom hunt. I'm kinda doubting I'll stumble on a Psilocybe Semilanceata here in my little town, but it can't hurt to look. Hopefully, I can convince someone to drive me to an area I think might be perfect (if I could only remember how to get there). I think I'll have much better chances there.

 icon  Barbecue and archery

Barbecue and archery

NeroAnima was supposed to go by her parents today to feed the fish and take in the mail, as her parents are out of town on vacation.

So I tagged along, so I get play around with my bow some more. It was frigging amazing because this is the first time I've ever gone home with MORE arrows than I went in with. Actually, I think almost every single time I've gone I lose at least one or two arrows, and these damn things are fiber glass (running at 50 kronor a pop, 6-7 dollars).

Anyhow, I shot my bow a week or two ago, and I lost one or two arrows that day too. Seriously folks,... if you've never used a bow and arrow out on a field with moderate length grass, you have no frigging idea how damn hard it is to find your arrows. Even with colored fins, they are sometimes completely hidden under grass, since they dig and slide in very well. You could walk over them countless times and probably never know it.

I go to the same place around her parents place each time, which turned out to work in my favor today! They had mowed the lawn in that area, and I wasn't even there for more than 2 minutes before I found one of the arrows I lost last time! Not only that, but I positioned my target differently this time, so if I missed it would probably land on some dirt area instead, allowing me to see the arrows easier.

After that we barbecued at her parents house with one of them little "one time" use BBQ kits. I wasn't very hungry, so I ate less than half of the meat I brought, but it still tasted good and was fun. Nero just BBQed some of the tomatoes her parents grew and had those to her taters.

Mhhhmmmm... bbq.

icon  f*ck yeah! - I got my essential oil today!
Fuck yeah! - I got my essential oil today! :)Fuck yeah! - I got my essential oil today! :)

Today I got to pick up my package of the incense oils I ordered just earlier this week.

I couldn't smell anything from the outside of the package, but as soon as I took the styrofoam off I got a big whiff.

It's 24 10ml bottles of cinnamon essential oil. I'm sure I've explained already why I ordered these. I got them shipped from the company who makes them (Interlam AB), who was very friendly with helping me out!

icon  Whohoo - essential oils on the way!

I guess I should give a little background here.

Many months ago - probably during the fall of last year, I got really hooked on the smell of cinnamon incense sticks. Shortly after I was buying the cinnamon fragrance oils and cinnamon essential oils (when I felt rich LOL) for my incense burner as well.

And then it all went to hell. After Christmas had come and gone, folks apparently don't dig the cinnamon scent anymore, because (except for one rip off store here in town) I can never find cinnamon oils or sticks anymore. And believe me, I look a lot because I buy incense pretty frequently.

So anyhow, I took things into my own hands and solved my problem!

I emailed Interlam AB, the Swedish company that produces all the oils I buy (great quality stuff too, I might add), and asked if it would be possible to order a box of their cinnamon oils off them directly because I can't find them anywhere anymore.

It didn't take any convincing, but maybe my nice initial letter helped, and they said they would do it for me, even though it's not something they normally do.

So I got the price of both the fragrance oil and the essential oil, and since I was getting a really good deal as it was, I decided to go with the essential oils! Essential oils are much more concentrated and pure, and smell much stronger than the normal incense fragrance oils. Plus, since I make my own incense from time to time, I can use the essential oils in some recipes, whereas the others would be a cheapo method.

I just made the payment to them, about 20 minutes ago, so now I am really psyched and will check the mail as soon as it comes every day to get my box of 24 10ml cinnamon essential oils!

I know I probably could have gotten a "better" deal on ebay, but from my experience, people label fragrance oils incorrectly as essential oils to pass them off for a higher cost. At least when I am dealing with a company I know and respect, I know what I am getting!

icon  Little Lev outside & my first 4-leaf clover of the season

Little Lev outside & my first 4-leaf clover of the season

Nero wanted to take Little Lev outside today, so Little Lev is still out there kicking back in the shade now.

I came in earlier, but she and Little Lev are still right outside our balcony.

He doesn't seem to be scared at all - if anything just extremely curious about everything. He's also been "marking" (where rabbits rub their chins on something as they have scent glands there for territoriality) many plants and other objects he encounters.

Oh, and I found a few clovers and wanted to try grabbing one for Little Lev to see if he wanted it... He didn't, but when I went back to take another a four leaf clover was sticking right out to me. Sure enough, I picked it and it was a lucky clover, making it my first four leaf clover this season! (I have found a total of 86 4 leaf clovers now, 4 5 leaf clovers, and one six leaf clover).

Can't wait until my clovers grow in...

 icon  Germinating clovers

I finally got my pack of white clover seeds in the mail today - I've been waiting for more than a week... Grr...

Anyhow, it was fun for me because I got to sew the seeds now and will have lots of clovers growing out on the balcony very shortly.

I'm growing them especially for Little Lev, even though he already has his own pot of rucola that has loads of seedlings just now.

The only other thing I wanted to try to grow this year was garlic... Maybe I will get around to doing that later tonight. Aside from clovers and rucola, I'm also currently growing about ten strawberry plants, a pot full of $h!t loads of coriander, two pots of chives, one pot of mint, one pot pot of parsley (seeds still germinating), and some oregano. As you can see, I like to devote my green thumb to plants you use.

I wish we had more sunlight on our balcony.

(mental note: take pictures of existing plants)

 icon  Back from Amsterdam

We arrived back to Sweden last night around midnight-ish. It's good to be home, have a refrigerator, and especially to see the bunny (and degus), but I gotta say, Sweden really sucks compared to Amsterdam.

I brought back a few pipe related things, a bunch of rolling papers, and a few other little tidbits.

Plus, I took loads of pictures of different things I saw (particularly, lots of pictures of the different weeds I bought).

I will post most of these pictures on this site shortly... Some will appear today and some others tomorrow or later.

Oh, and for anyone who was wondering approximately how much I'd smoke a day: roughly 3 grams!

 icon  I'm off to Amsterdam

Well, it's about 20 minutes until we gotta leave to wait for our bus, then train, then airplane.

I'm nervous as hell, and really not looking forward to the flight, but I'm hoping scoring some really good bud later tonight will make it all worth it.

I will do my best to keep you updated while I am there.

In any event, I may not be as active on here (or TT for that matter), so I wish you all a happy 420!

 icon  Damn am I nervous...

I can't remember feeling this nervous for a very long time.

Tomorrow I will be off to Amsterdam, and while I should be purely excited and looking forward to it, I find myself being overly anxious. I don't think I've ever been this nervous to fly before, so I may need to take some medicine to calm me down tomorrow.

See, I have developed a really acute fear of flying. To make matters worse, the thought of public transportation makes my heart beat fast, and I will have to take both a bus and train tomorrow to get to the airport.

Hopefully everything goes well and we arrive quickly and smoothly, because we should be getting in around 10-11'ish, and there are a couple coffeeshops less than half a kilometer away from the hotel that are supposed to be open until 1am. I'm hoping this is the case so I can get a little stuff the night we arrive to make the whole travel routine worth it.

I guarantee I will be taking a lot of pictures - mainly of different weeds/hashes, coffeeshops and things of that nature. But of course, I will take lots of buildings and any other places I visit as well.

If we have internet access in our hotel room, then I will try and post a picture each day.

Over and out.

icon  Amsterdam - less than 2 weeks and still can't wait that long

It's less than two weeks now until I go to the magical land of wooden shoes, canals and happy smoke.

I'm stoked!

I've never been there before, so this will all be new to me. I'm a bit angry that I didn't take initiative and go sooner because as of 4 months ago, magic mushrooms are now illegal in the Netherlands. Leave it to some dumb f*ck irresponsible idiots who don't know themselves (or their minds) at all, or what they should be taking, to ruin it for everyone else. At least there haven't been any horror stories in the news about nitwits trying to lick a chainsaw, or else everyone would again lose out because of the idiocy of some.

Fortunately, most of the coffeeshops (places that sell weed) are still open (even though some recently had to be closed because they were too close to schools), which is where I will spend a lot of my time. Smoking herb, drinking coffee and eating space cake. I've already made a list of roughly ten different coffeeshops I'd want to visit (such as Barney's, Green House, Abraxas, Old Church, etc..), as well as a few different strains of cannabis (White Widow, G13, AK47, Jack Herer, etc.). The whole concept of being able to choose your preferred herb taste and high is an incredibly foreign concept to most people in the world since cannabis smokers are demonized into being scoundral junky types (which is far from true). Since people who drink alcohol have an assortment of poisons to choose from, it only makes sense that cannabis smokers would enjoy the same such privilege.

I also plan to make a stop over at Sensi Seeds' Cannabis Museum (over in the red light district). While it's supposed to be pretty small and not too big of a deal, you apparently get to take a look at a grow room, where some plants are currently growing, and at the end of the tour you get to try some weed in a vaporizer!

Oh yeah... speaking of vaporizers, I really can't wait to try that out. I've wanted one ever since I heard about them a couple years ago, and the fact that they keep getting more and more popular means I might be able to get a cheap vaporizer instead of a new bong. For those of you who don't know, vaporization is a method in which a chamber reaches a specific temperature (which is necessary to make THC combust into vapor) and no plant material ever gets burned, so you aren't inhaling smoke at all (hence, no nasty particles to fill up your lungs). I've never tried a vaporizer, but wanted to for a very long time now. This method is becoming really popular for medicinal purposes since it gives you the hit almost as quickly as smoking, but bypasses the messy step of inhaling microscopic particles.

It sucks a bit that they passed the new law last summer whereby smoking tobacco inside isn't allowed. This sucks since hash is generally smoked by mixing tobacco, and many of the pre-rolled dubies contain tobacco. So now, you gotta stand outside the coffee shop if you want to smoke any joints or bongs with tobacco mixed i.

I also read online that Amsterdam has a KFC not too far from where our hotel is. I'll probably stop in for something, since Sweden has no KFC (even though half the rest of the world does, including our neighbor, Denmark).

I will also probably visit the Wax Museum, take a boat ride or two, and stop in for some shopping and maybe take in another museum or zoo.

But I won't lie... The thing I look more to the most (even more so than the weed) is the environment. People who don't love cannabis, or have never tried it, may not realize how many social stigmas are attached to it. In most countries cannabis smokers are portrayed in a much different light than they really are. When I used to hang out at Christiania (Denmark), the thing that made me feel the best was being inside a community that isn't brainwashing its masses into believing a bunch of absolute nonsense about one of Earth's oldest, safest and most valued plants. So yeah, you can argue it all comes back to weed in some way, shape or form, but weed alone doesn't make that feeling. The ability to smoke freely without having to fear for your own personal liberty or what people may think of you, is something you can't buy or find in many places on this planet. As a hard-core cannabis supporter, I can't wait to smoke some good herb in a place that tolerates and respects it. It's a shame that drug law is so ingrained in international policy that we are damning our own future generations by giving them harder and more unsafe poisons (alcohol) instead of providing them with a safer, healthier and more socially responsible intoxicant.

-----

All drugs are not bad. This is one of the biggest mistakes we can say to society, as we are damning them to be distrustful to authority when it has shown to be dishonest. When people start to find out that much of what they were told about a particular drug is a lie, they began to question everything these authorities have does them, and in the end many people may turn to harder drugs because they may assume, "if I was lied to about that, then I'm probably being lied to about this". It's important to distinguish soft drugs and hard drugs, addictive drugs and toxic drugs. By perpetuating the myth to society that all drugs are the same is what causes the "stepping stone", or "gateway drug" effect. It's interesting to note that a study was done some years ago which found that the availability of cannabis does not increase hard drug usage. San Francisco and Amsterdam were both cited and references, and when the data came in, it showed very clearly that San Francisco (where cannabis still remains illegal) has much more hard drug use (on average, per person, based on a percentage of the population) than Amsterdam (where cannabis has been decriminalized). If we are serious about wanting to keep as many people away from as many of the nasty drugs out there as possible, then we need to stop lying by pretending all drugs are the same. They are not. Some kill, some heal. Some change minds and lead to better tomorrows, and some create slaves. It's important to recognize these, instead of perpetuating misinformation, fear and deceit. Sweden, I'm looking right at you, you shady, backwards thinking, misinformed nitwit politicians.
